Encouragement Through Experience
Welcome to Tapestry of Joy
In 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, the Apostle Paul wrote,
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
Wow! Isn't that powerful? God trusts us to take our experiences and use them to comfort others as He has comforted us!
And that is what Tapestry of Joy is about.
My name is Cindy, and I am Joy’s mother.
My goal is to examine my journey from feeling like I was trapped in a black balloon to a life of peace and joy, even thru the loss of my 32 year old daughter, Joy. What spiritual beliefs did I hold that were true and what spiritual beliefs did I hold that were false?
Joy was a special child.
I thank God every day for blessing me by allowing me the privilege to be her mother for 32 beautiful, but difficult, years. When God gave me Joy, He knew how much I needed to learn. I was spiritually handicapped. I prayed for years for Joy to be healed from her disability, but instead God used Joy to heal me to address my own blindness and handicaps. Isn’t that a profound thought?
When Joy died unexpectedly, one of my dear friends told me, “Cindy, Joy had an assignment here on earth & she completed it. Now you complete yours by sharing what you learned through her life.”
So here I am… a flawed, broken, imperfect woman - loved by God and saved by his grace. And, I am so thankful! I am blown away that God could use me in some small way to fulfill a purpose that I never imagined.
