Are You Sure Of Heaven?

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” 1 John 5:13

Today I'm excited to share a lesson I presented in July 2024, focusing on the “Scarlet Thread of Redemption,” which beautifully weaves the message of salvation from Genesis to Revelation!

Several years ago, I read a children’s book by John Cross titled The Lamb. It quickly became my second favorite book, right after my beloved Bible, which holds the top spot! The Lamb weaves together aspects of the Biblical narrative that I never understood presenting a beautiful tapestry of God’s wonderful plan of salvation in a way that even young children can grasp! This book transformed my teaching ministry.

Years ago, a friend shared an illustration with me from a sermon he heard. The minister used a long red cord to represent the “Scarlet Thread of Redemption." The visual description from my friend stuck with me. I’ve woven together ideas from The Lamb with my friend’s beautiful illustration to create today’s lesson.

Please join me in worship as we focus on the message of Chris Tomlin’s song, At The Cross.

The chorus of the song says, “Where Your love ran red and my sin washed white, I owe all to You, I owe all to You Jesus.” The lyrics point to the cross where Jesus died in our place. The cross where our sins are washed away and we are clean before God.
